FIP CPS ExCo at the APhA Conference, Washington DC

The FIP Community Pharmacy Section Executive Committee (ExCo) met for its mid-year meeting 10-12 March 2010 prior to the annual meeting of the American Pharmacists' Association (APhA).

Gene Lutz, a member of the ExCo and former President of APhA, hosted President Martine Chauvé, Vice President Dominique Jordan, Secretary Eeva Teräsalmi, Samira Goussous, Ema Paulino, Warren Meek and Patty Payne at the new APhA Headquarters in Washington DC, USA.

Several ExCo members stayed for the APhA 2010 Annual meeting and were able to attend continuing education sessions and policy making sessions as well as take part in networking with APhA members. They also participated in the International Forum hosted annually at APhA by Proctor and Gamble. ExCo members also visited an innovative community pharmacy practice while in Washington DC to learn how a typical American pharmacy operates. Members also assisted FIP staff by helping at the FIP Booth in the APhA 2010 Exhibition Hall. Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, Tom Menighan, of APhA was also able to join the ExCo for dinner one evening.

The members of ExCo were pleased to be able to combine our meeting with the APhA meeting.
